I had just had the most awesome business trip out to California, and wanted to show off some pictures of the rental car I got.
Yep its that beautiful 2004 Ford Mustang Convertible! I had way too much fun driving it for the 3 days I had it, I mean what were they thinking (Hertz) giving a 21 year old red blooded American male, this car! I was originally supposed to get an “Intermediate” vehicle, I guess a Cadillac or something… but they ended up being out at the airport I flew into, so they asked me this… “Do you want a Van or a Convertible?” I thought for about a millisecond and immediately said, “Umm, a convertible!” So off I went to enjoy the wonders of my new car on the 2 hour drive up to my hotel.
I had a blast just cruising, and seriously thought about not sleeping, just driving up the coast, but reason prevailed and when I pulled into the hotel at 11 PM (2 AM East Coast time) I was out like a light. It was a fun car, and I had a lot of fun feeling like it was mine for a couple days.
I guess the moral of the story is, God can bless you in ways you never imagined or expected. Right before I left for California I made an offhand remark to a friend about how it would be incredible to get a cool car, since it was my first time renting, and he agreed that it would be… and then when it happened I knew that it could only be the hand of God. I mean I didn’t “need” a convertible, I could’ve driven an old Grand Marquis (no offense to those who own them) for all that mattered. But it was so cool, just to see God’s hand of blessing and realize that He cares about me, even down to my “wants”.

When Grandma came we took her to Hyland park. It is about 10 minutes away at the three rivers district, and the playground is AWESOME! The twisting labyrinth of tunnels, mesh, slides and passage ways was terrificly fun, even for Kara and I! Dad and Sarah even got in on the fun coming down a gigantic metal slide. Sarah came down so fast she slid right off the end of it! :) After playing, looking in the curvy mirrors, and generally having a ball, we went on a bikeride! The bike trails led us through open plains, wooded lanes and by a lake. It was an amazingly fun day. The Lord is surely good to let us have this time in Minnesota!

We had a lovely time raking leaves here, but at the end Charis was 'full up' of the leaves. Then at the church we raked leaves, shoveled dirt, and lost dad's cell phone. :(
